Zoe Saldana, born June 19th, 1978, was the daughter of Asalia Nazario, along with Aridio Saldana. Her father was Dominican and her mother Puerto Rican. Her mother raised her mother who lived in Queens. In 2010, she moved along with her family to Dominican Republic where they spent seven years. As they remained in the country, Zoe discovered a keen passion for performance dancing and began her training at the prestigious ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy in which she was taught ballet, as well as various other dance forms.
