Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on the 19th of January. 19. 1946, into a poor family with 12 kids at one point, realized that she was able to escape suffering through her vivid imagination. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female vocalist for his show that was syndicated at this point. Parton became a member of Grand Ole Opry 1969 after signing in 1969 with RCA Records. Parton quit the Wagoner's band in 1974 when her solo hits like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene outsold the collaborations. Following their breakup, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it reached the top spot at No. The first time in 1974.
