Lucy Liu is an American actor, voice actress, director producer, and vocalist. She's attractive and talented actress who has helped numerous Asian actors to achieve success in Hollywood. She gained fame after numerous popular characters in television shows. In the Ally McBeal series, where she portrayed Ling Woo the villainous character. After her popularity, she was offered major parts for her in Shanghai Noon (1998) and Charlie's Angels (2000). She then delivered a superlative performance in the role of Japanese criminal O-Ren Ishii as the Quentin Tarantino film Kill Bill Volume 1. In the meanwhile, she also played leading roles in several box office failures such as Rise: Blood Hunter. In later years, she worked as voice actor for animated movies, such as Kung Fu Panda. Mia Mason's role in Cashmere Mafia, a small screen production, didn't bring about the results. Southland was a critically-acclaimed crime-drama - established her as a leading actress. Liu is very careful in selecting her roles in order that she does not become the victim of a highly competitive industry. She is also a talented artist who has not been restricted due to her ethnic background.
